Crohn's Disease (also known as ulcerative colitis, granulomatous enteritis, regional enteritis, ileitis, or terminal ileitis)  is an ongoing chronic disorder which is an inflammation of the intestines. It mainly causes ulcerations (breaks in the lining) of the small and large intestines, but can affect the digestive system anywhere from the mouth to the anus.  The swelling extends deep into the lining of the affected organ - which causes pain and  makes the intestines empty frequently, resulting in diarrhea.

Although the Cause of Crohn's Disease is unknown - it is believed that infection by certain bacteria, such as strains of mycobacterium, may be the cause.
Diet may affect the symptoms - however,  it is unlikely that it causes for the disease.

The most common Crohn’s Disease Symptoms are abdominal pain  and diarrhea. Rectal bleeding, weight loss, arthritis, skin problems, and fever can also occur.  Crohn's Disease is not contagious.

Crohn's Disease Treatment may include drugs, nutrition supplements, surgery, or a combination of these options. The aim being to control inflammation, correct nutritional deficiencies, and relieve the symptoms - there is no cure!
